Hi I have just bought a 2004 Alfa Romeo GT JTD. I was on parkers website looking at the facts n figures n noticed 2 versions of the JTD; Alfa Romeo GT (04 on) 1.9 JTDm 16V 2d and Alfa Romeo GT (04 on) 1.9 JTD 16V M-jet 2d. I jus wondered what the difference was if any performance wise?

Didnt they change it slightly on 2008?

2008 was a slight face lift or something.

M jet is nothing really, engine is same if anything I think it was detunned for emmissions, search on here you'll find the answer

It wasnt a facelift,it was the m jet alright.Didnt take much notice of the diseasel models.

Same power, same performance, slightly lower emissions.

The change over to JTDm was at about 06 or 56 plate, and they started badging them as JTDm's. Then at 07 they changed back to badging them simply as JTD even though they are JTDm's.
JTD - 176 emissions £200 tax per year.
JTDm - 165 emmisions £155 tax per year.

At 07/57 there was a bit of a facelift. A few subtle changes, chrome whiskers, twin exhaust, met grey dash, new mat chrome gearknob and a new set instruments.

Nope, my JTD is 165kgm and is £150 a year to tax

He listed the rates that take effect from April (but didn't mention it!).
165g/km currently £150, but £155 from April 2010
175g/km currently £175 but £200 from April 2010

Am I right in thinking then that all standard secondhand diesel GTs have 150BHP? The 147s JTD was 115. I'm looking to swap my 1.6 city run around for a motorway muncher.

yes, apart from the 170bhp versions!

115bhp was an 8v. The 16v 147JTD had 140bhp or 150bhp. Plus the later 170bhp versions.


(some markets also had lower power versions of both the 8v and 16v JTD)

Just to correct myself here, some 16v JTDm GT do have a DPF, but it may be only in specific markets.
