Parked it up on Monday after collecting it.

Went out in it last night and it took three attempts to start and then smelt like a BBQ for a while and smoked at every junction. Seemed to pull alright and didn't notice it on the way back.

Tomorrow will be a read up on here of what how to clean things off but I am no mechanic so any pointers appreciated.

Swirl flaps probably leaking. Does it idle better once up to temperature?

It did last night but but not on Monday when I picked it up and drove home it was still idling roughly when I got home.

I will do some research on that first then, thanks.

If you take the engine cover off and have a look on top of the inlet manifold I bet there is loads of black soot/gunky stuff, thats usually a giveaway that the swirl flaps are leaking.

Thanks I will take a look this weekend.

Annoying if it is as the cambelt has been done in the last few thousand miles so that could have been sorted at the same time by the looks of it.

Pity you are so far away from me otherwise I may have been booking a visit and a remap chat.

It may be worth checking the MAP sensor isn't totally clogged up - very simple job
