(I hope this thread is in the right place)

As it says really. Anybody know any diesel / injetor specialists in Birmingham area?

A google search returns very little and I need an injector replaced ASAP.

Thanks. I found these guys but was hoping for something in Birmingham. There are 2 in Smethwick but something my side (South West) would be better. I'm sure there must be more.

Haha. Smethwick is in Birmingham, it's NW. Anything north side, including Dudley, Wolverhampton and Walsall (Black Country) is Yam Yam. South is Brummy. So now you know haha.

I don't think they do repairs themselves only sell Alfa's, from speaking to the owner I think they use Motormech for repairs. They diagnosed my injector issue, I was going to get them to replace it as well but they have a 2 weel waiting list and wamt it done soonrr if possible.

Yes that is who stamped my book to say he had done the service I requested as part of the sale!!

Lets say that service wasn't done!!!

Air filter , the metal part was rusty three monthes after supposedly being changed!!!

Oil filter was different to the one I got from alfa, had me cross referencing both to work out what I should use.
Oil was thick and black

Cover over obd is held in place by a massive penny washer and bolt!!

Motormech stamped your book but no actual service done?

Who did you buy the car off? Second City?

I'd be interested to know as they are now replacing my injector next week.

Yes car was purchased from second city
Motor mech stamped the book.

I'd bet the car on it that the only part that was changed (and for a none genuine one) was the diesel filter as you can see it.

Sump plug had no centre left in it all!!!
Wasn't in the best of mood when I found all the faults on it!!

After having the car a week it developed the dreaded squek, I spoke with second city to say I had had it diagnosed as the lower wishbone bushes ( was diagnosed by a Mercedes master technician) even though the car was well inside the 3 month warranty period it took me alot of phone calls and emails to get them to pay out fit the repair.
Car was Sold with 3 monthes warranty backed by the AA. Second city never provided me with any paper work but instead choose to send me the cash for the wishbone!!
I then had to pay for the extras that they know it would need, new bolts , drop links etc.

I will never use them again

I've had similar experience with getting independant traders to pay out. It is a lot of work to get anything done. I have just had the inlet manifold replaced. The issue reared it's head a week after I brought the car. Simplyalfas diagnosed it right away and said it needed replacing but the dealer would only clean it. This put the problem off for around 8 months before it returned.

I did not buy my car from Second City but always thought that being an Alfa specialist they would care for their cars and Alfisti. Especially as they are over priced which is the reason I never brought from them. Glad really.

Although my previous 159 was purchased from Second City by the then owner that I brought it off. He had it less than a year and lost 2k on it. I didn't have it long enough to discover any problems because I had to downgrade soon after due to potential loss of job which didn't materialise.

I hope Motormech are more genuine and do a better job when they work on car next week. I'll report back with my experience. I'll compare them to Intaservice in Leicester who recently replaced the inlet manifold.

When did you buy the car from them? I sold my prev 147 to them and got my present motor from them, their price did not seem overpriced when I was looking to change my 147.
