We’re going Japanese today.

Saw my first Honda E in black. It was a dealer demo. Young lass driving it so maybe it is appealing to the yoof. It was slightly underwhelming, but that maybe because it was in black. Looked like a wheelie bin.

Then a few minutes later, talk about compare and constraint! An M reg (from the 70’s), rather tatty looking but still running Datsun pickup truck.

Saw a 145 at Autolusso today, not often you see these anymore. And, what is soon to be a 156 conversion ;)

Whilst driving from Manchester to Whitby yesterday we saw a lovely old Stag on the A1(M). Why do some people with old cars drive so slowly though. I'm sure a 3.0 V8 is capable of more than a steady 55.

To counter that, we also saw a Mk2 Granada estate pulling the biggest caravan you've ever seen in your life.

Quite a few Minis out in Whitby too.

I still want a mini pickup! 🙂

I'd love to see a mini pickup on the current 4wd Countryman chassis. Probably pointless but I can see them lined up in Newquay or Califonia. Large roll bars, lights and surfboards stacked up.

No? Just me then!! 🙂 I must be a niche market!

I think that would be amazing. You'd need some serious wheelarch flares.

There's a Clubman wagon somewhere in the North West that is on a Nissan Pulsar floorpan. I have a photo somewhere. I'll see if I can dig it out.

If I had some ability with a CAD system and picture editing I'm sure I could draw something, and it would have flared arches (but not a mini monster truck).

Donkeys years ago I saw a mini clubman with a Lotus engine I. To. The air filters were poking out of the grill!!

Still regret not getting one of these I saw cheap many years ago... Super rare.

Today's spots are a split screen Morry Thou and a Saab NG900. Not sure if the Saab had been painted matt green or had the lacquer stripped off by the salty air but it brought back fond memories of my old Talladega.

Those 'high' exit exhausts on a Mini just result in them pointing directly at the face of any pedestrian they pass!

That is true but if you look at the rear of the car, on the left hand side, you can see the actual exhaust. And before you ask, I don't get it either. There is a certain school of Mini modding that involves cramming as much shiny crap on them as possible.

It was yesterday afternoon, but what a Bertone GTV in a light cream with what looked like a racing number on the side and possibly a roll cage, on the back of a transporter; looked more like it was being moved somewhere rather than it didn’t work. My first thought was that it was an Alfaholics jobbie. Looked 😎
Saw this one again! And still on the back of a low loader... but I’m wondering... it was within a few miles of where I also saw the Montreal a few weeks back. Is there an old Alfa specialist near me? Not that I know of. But Longcross is in pretty much the same area, where there are some TV studios. Hmm.

Two rarities in the space of a couple of minutes at Llandudno summit this afternoon. A Porsche Taycan and a Lamborghini Yaris. First time I have seen the Lamborghini SUV in the flesh. Heard it before I clapped eyes on it. Definitely not a looker in my opinion although the V8 sounded sweet.

I liked the look of the Porsche but the EV thing really doesn’t attract me at the moment.

After the mini pickup chat last week I saw a deep maroon mini pickup in immaculate condition on a car transporter on the M1 this afternoon. Been trying to find the right "Webb Garage" (name on the door of the transporter) to see if it was for sale. Might just have been being delivered somewhere 😔

Nice old Zephyr in the centre of Manchester this aft. Not sure if it's a Farnham or Abbott conversion.

Edit: it's a Farnham conversion by Abbott (of Farnham). You live and learn.
