As far as I know the famose fading red was Alfa Red 130... which was faded out (see what I did there? ) with the 156. I think your GT will have 289/A but you can check on the sticker that should be under the bootlid.
There was an Eco 130 red.. circa 2000 but that might be too long ago for it to have ended up on the GT.
58 plate 2008 It's the 170 Cloverleaf.
When I mentioned the stone chips to the dealer, they said they couldn't do anything about them but I did get free touch up paint. Some have been luck enough to get a free respray!
So... 130R fades but doesn't chip. 289A chips but doesn't fade..?
If you don't do millions of motorway miles, the beast ought to be okay, shouldn't it? My '45 (Francia Blu) has got far worse since the M25 came into its life..
