Not an Alfa, but could be useful for all our "lady" Alfisti.

My daughter has her car insured with Diamond. As a new driver, she was being asked to pay over £530 for 10 months (give's 12 months NCB) as this years renewal.

On checking through one of the comparison websites she found Admiral would cover her for 12 months at £471!! A saving of £60 ... not to be sniffed at.

Then she realised Diamond and Admiral as the same company (or part of the same group). So she rang Diamond who gave her the 12 months for the Admiral rate!! So not fuss or hassle in changing companies and a big saving ...

Don't accept that the prices quoted on the web are the cheapest available ...

Definitely.

I was looking at an 1994 Escort RS2000 yesterday & went on the Web to check quotes through other insurance companies on it's own (I have a Multicar policy with Admiral). Admiral quoted me later a total of £550ish for car. One website showed me a price of £2200! So it does definitely pay to call up insurance companies instead.

We did compare that carefully .. even calling Admiral to ask if they would reduce their audio cover ... £795 minimum ... OK if you have a smart radio, but the Pug only has a bog-standard radio/cd fitment .. and that's linked to the car as the display is separate.

No, cover was same or similar and what she needed ...

Just who can you trust nowadays not to rip you off??? ... ridiculous.
