hi all, please could any one tell me of any alfa specialists around the cheshire area as all i can find is main dealers around near me. one better than that would be a mobile diagnostic but people that ive emailed wont look at my alfa because the problem is with my gearbox (selespeed) ive got the usual selespeed problem of the dash light flashing and no gears being selected, then going into neutrel when stopped. ive already put a new pump on it and its the same so i dont fancy gambling with any more new parts, any help would be greatly apriciated

Alfadiag here:

AlfaDiag Alfa Romeo Diagnostic Software

One of fee for licence & free updates

KKL cables available through links on the site, ebay, or there are a couple of members on here (SEARs & Rarebear) that sell modified ones to enable airbag & ABS resetting (alfadiag doesn't currently tackle both of these at the moment, but future updates will address this)

Will do  , there's few folk on here familiar with the system, so there's a good chance some-one will be on-line to help :D
In fact could anyone volunteer some info in this thread regarding the process of using Alfadiag in relation to selespeeds?

No worries :)
Basically yes, but you may have to tweak a couple of settings to prevent time-out connection issues, but there will be plenty of advice here in that respect
Alfadiag is a great tool - may be worth getting the cable & the demo version to see what you think

cheers jon, ive looked on ebay and all there is are the vw audi kkl interfaces, do these fit too or does it has to be alfadiag compatable? is it just worth getting the cable of the alfadiag website for £25?

Selespeed? Simplespeed more like :cheese:

No, not really. I'm very much learning as I go, but one of the things I've learnt is that correct cluth rod adjustment, a clutch bleed, and an automatic calibration routine run work wonders :)

Smaky has written up a great how-to:

http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-145-and-146/159750-selespeed-clutch-rod-adjustment-with-alfadiag.html

You'll need a couple of spanners - 19mm and 10mm, and follow the instructions provided.

Other things I've used AlfaDiag for (as far as Sele's are concerned) are to check the pump runs when commanded, and to check the actuator pressure sensors. It should be around 50...can't remember what the units are now...psi, presumably...

Plenty people with (a lot) more knowledge than me, but feel free to ask me anything!

PS AlfaDiag is the badger's. Get it!!!

AFAIK the 16 pin USB KKL cables fit a broad range of vehicles :)

Here's one, not a bad price - if you need it for airbag tasks you will need to add a jumper cable on the socket

USB ISO KKL Interface for use with Alfadiag software

As I said there are two members on here that can supply modded cables - SEARs & Rarebear - you could search their username & PM them for costs :)
