Hi,
Sorry to hear that, I would have called them right away. Did they offer any kind of warranty? I would think they would have some responsibility to repair it.

Welcome, and ouch, not the best way to start ownership, what happened to cause it to breakdown? Lights, power?

the garage have to ring momentum. they will probably pay for the part, but only a certain amount of labour per hour.
i have autoguard, who pay £65 p/h labour, but alfa charge £80 p/h so id have to make up the difference. luckily im a mechanic

sorry to hear about your car, it obviously needs a caring owner :)

Check the bottom crank pulley.
The outer is bonded to the inner and when they fail the inner spins and the rubber bond smokes.
See if the aux belt is loose.

Still no idea on the problem, if it has a warranty then why not get it fixed and repaired that way?

A real shame that you've had such a bad first experience!

When I brought mine to my local Alfa Stealer they quoted me almost £2k to get it sorted!

The list included: New EGR (Solved for about £35), new discs and pads (solved for approx £350 - £400) and a new Inlet manifold (to be fitted, but cost me £220)

So far I've spent about £650 doing it myself and I'm in the final stages! So it is possible to do it at a better rate!

After these have been sorted the next step is a remap.

I also had injector problems when I first purchased it, but these where all dealt with under warranty.

I hope it all turns out for you! Just know that there is light at the end of the tunnel! :)
