We're off to Italy in the campervan May/Jun and have decided that on our way down to catch the ferry to Sardinia or Elba (haven't made up our minds 100% which Island yet) we'll call and visit the Alfa Museum at Arese. Any of you guys visited?

Sounds brilliant, you need to check the status of the museum because as I'm sure you're aware there have been issues surrounding its future. Even when access was available it was always a case of having to announce your arrival first. I was lucky enough to visit for the cenenary celebrations. I wish you well, keep the forum posted regarding your progress.

tried last year and they wouldn't let us in

Someone said, you need to contact them ahead of your visit...So, I'll need to check that it is still open and that we're going to be allowed in..
I hope it's still operating as it would be a shame to close such an Important venue
that displays the historic Italian marques motoring history.

I'm staying in Arese on our way to Tuscany late May....mainly because its just off the A8 Autostrada which is our route anyway.

But have read in a few places the Museum is closed and has been since 2011 alas.......

"The museum is located in Arese (MI), viale Alfa Romeo, at Centro Direzionale Alfa Romeo.

By car, take the SS 233 Milan-Varese highway or the Milano-Laghi Motorway A8-A9 - Arese exit.

For information: tel. +39 02 444 294 21; +39 02 444 293 22

IMPORTANT
The Alfa Romeo Museum is closed until further notice for maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenience"

Oh well, looks like a case of "jog on" then unless it is up and running.

We're leaving last week of May. We just tool down through France and through the Mont Blanc tunnel. We always use the back roads and look for the nice campsites.

I'm going to attempt to make contact with them as their web site still says "closed for maintenance till further notice" I'll give it a go at the weekend.
