My 156 TS is giving me grief! Following the fantastic advice on this forum (thanks guys!) I've pulled the crank position sensor, since I thought this was why the car wasn't starting. (No spark at the plugs.) However, I've put my multimeter across it & I'm reading around 900 ohms resistance. Is this right? Surely if it was totally knackered I'd be reading an open circuit (or a closed one.) Also, when I wave a bolt past the sensor very quickly I'm reading about a volt or so. Again, not very convincing for a "duff" sensor.
Could it be something else? What about camshaft sensor? Since I have to wait till Monday pm to get the new crank sensor anyway, I thought I'd ruin a perfectly fine weekend by looking for the real fault.
