I've just repaired some leaking aluminium air conditioner pipes in Son of Ken's Alfa 147 and saved a big pile of money (about £180) in the process .
I used a propane blowlamp and some Durafix EasyWeld rods from here - - Durafix England

Would it work to refurb alloys! If you have a cut out of the alloys of a deep scuff, you could fill it with that stuff?
