I have been under a few old car bonnets in my life but never seen a shared clutch and brake reservoir. Will post a picture.
This is on a 1986 Alfetta GTV 2.0
Clutch is poor in operation so will look for a separate reservoir and bleed it...

Anybody seen / heard of this solution?

I'm sure most manual Alfa's have shared reservoirs. And many other cars as well. It's a nice safety feature, because if you have a slowish leak somewhere in the brake hydraulics your clutch will stop working first due to the fluid take-off being higher up in the reservoir, so hopefully signalling the driver to stop and check before the brakes fail.

What's wrong with your clutch?

Originally I was struggling with 3 to 2 down shift. The sometime all gear shifts are awkward and crunches the box.
I now believe this to be low clutch fluid as clutch pedal also feels a fit "floppy"

Will look at changing brake and clutch fluid for fresh fluid, bleed it and check for leaks.

Hopefully an easy fix.
