Steering rack or track rod ends or maybe a lose wheel, jack that side up and give the wheel a good wobble and see if you can pin point it.

if you find a Steering Rack under there your would be doing well...

Worn Castor Arm Bushes are notorious for making that sound when under Braking.

Though to be awkward on my Car the noise turned out to be a tiny amount of play between the main cross member and the bracket which holds the bottom wishbone. The bolts used when assembling it were slightly too long in the shank and became thread bound fractionally before clamping up the bracket, allowing a very small amount of movement. Didn't find the fault until I dismantled it all.
