Hi

This may be a stupid question, but is it possible to change the temp measurement display from Far to Cel ?

It's really bugging me

No, I don't think so. When I got my current car, the CC was all over the place. I brought it back to the stealers and they reprogrammed it but when I mentioned about the outside temp being in C and the CC in F they said that was the way it was!

It doesn't sound right that you can't change it, especially as if there is a default for an italian car it should be in metric anyway! You must have a second series 156 with the readout in the dials? I seem to recall a button somewhere near the dials.

Don't you have a manual for the car? The way I read your post, You can change the infocentre display, yes? Through the Menu -> Units funtion. My old 156 had both the CC and Infoscreen Displays in Celcius.

Have you tried to disconnect the battery, and reconnect after 10 mins? It might come back on with default metric units. Potentially...

it's preprogrammed :/ only changeable by a dealer with their computer gear, though i have seen a cable on e-bay that may allow the change to be done at home.

My cars booked for a cambelt change on the 19th, might ask the dealer to throw in the f to c change as a freebie for a new customer to make sure i return :)

The 147 is user changeable.

The 156 needs to be changed on the Examiner System by a dealer/ specialist, you can change the outside temperature yourself - so they match!

just to update, dealer did the change on the climate control and did it for free. rather nice of them especially as the cambelt change was only £255 which is pretty competitive for an Alfa main dealer. They got me on the Aux tensioner though :/ £120 extra for a new one of them.

Just to add, this is accessable via the MFD menu system.

(Or so it says in my book... I'm a bit too scared to play about with that at the mo', just in case I screw something up :D )
This is correct. MFD menu system changes both internal and external to whatever you like, no stealers required ;)

Yes but you have 147 and Mike 07 and I (and others) have a 156 - so there is a difference as has been pointed out above.

I seem to remember that with my 147 I could indeed change between F and C and when I got the 156 I was surprised that I couldn't :(

yep thats correct. On the 147 it is user adjustable on the MFD but not on the 156. The MFD adjustment only affects the MFD and not the Climate control.
