As the title suggests, anyone know of anywhere that do automotive parts?

I have recently got my hands on a spare V6 plenum and front bank coil cover.... Instead of farting on painting and/or cleaning them up, I thought maybe chrome plating them instead.

I know its possible even on cast alloy and I'm going to blank off all the plenum chamber holes up prior:thumbs:

i looked into this a few years ago but got told it wasnt viable for reasons that i can remember

i think autolusso also tried to do it too with the aim of selling them on an exchange basis but couldnt for whatever reason.

if you do work out its possible though, let us know :)

there was some pictures posted on here a few weeks ago of someone who had chrome sprayed theirs and it looked sweet, ill try and find the link.

It may be worth asking Pud @ Autolusso too cos he'll know more about it cos they tried to do it, ill alert him to this thread.

I know theres a place at Thornaby that does chrome plating though.

We got a set Nickel coated (it looks like chrome), they looked great off the car but not so good on the car because it showed up the rest of the dirty bits of the engine bay. Also it cost a fortune.

Try speaking to AndyVerdi on here, he's from the Northeast and works in the polishing/coating business, he'll probably be able to sort you out or explain why its not possible or not a good idea. You can get some very nice metallic effect powdercoats these days which may be a better avenue to try if you want to bling up the engine bay.
