Went to the car today after being on holiday (car sat in garage) battery flat n key won't come out of ignition. Is this because battery is flat? Cheers
Car key stuck in ignition after battery died, is this a common issue?

I've had this with a 166, where the key won't come out iff the battery is flat, but not a 156. I'd suspect (surprise!) that David C is correct in his surmise. Simple check - connect some jump leads to another car, or charge the battery......
Charged battery n key released?????? Never come across that before but hey ho live n learn. Took it down for MOT and only failed on brake pads so happy....no.... very very happy about that lol. Just need to change or fix the knock sensor on bank2 now (code PO330) and she will be right as rain!!!!
Ok fella cheers for that, I'd never come across it before and was worried at the time but it's all sorted now. Work ongoing...just noticed a split in the rubber on the air intake system, so knock sensor and new elbow now required....sweet lol
