Hi, I bought a 147 GTA a few months back. The previous owner had bought it from an auction (for cheap no doubt) and then let it stand for a year, and sold it. I got it for quite a good price I tihnk... but it is missing a lot of stuff. No breakdown kit in the boot.. only 1 key... (which doesn't work for alarm etc) no service history etc. I've had various work done to it (cambelt and waterpump ASAP) , oil cooler & pipes, radiator.

I know GTA's change hands quite a bit (this one has been owned by 6 others I tihnk) so just wondering if I can put it out there, and if you owned this car or know anything about it, I would welcome any info.. It seems it may have had a shunt at the front at some point.. (A for Alfa thinks so). But overall it's great now, and the one bonus of it is that it's low mileage. (42k).

I'll attach a pic or two, but not had chance to get some proper ones yet. The reg was MF53 DXJ if that rings any bells!

Anyway, she's just had a wizard / pud exhaust put on, and sounds brilliant. Just ordered all the filters to do a mini service. Oil is a good colour so no worries there

Has the big brake upgrade from factory by the looks of it... but someon has fitted the squeakiest, screaming Ferodo pads to the car.. not great in traffic! But boy do they stop.

Loving it anyway, can't stop putting miles on it. Got it on 40k, now nearly at 43k in a few months. Lucky work pay for my petrol :D

Give Mangoletsi a call, they'll probably have some information on the history of your car, the reg is almost identical to my old car so I assume it was a Mangos car as well.

:)

Hope this helps.

Nice intel Sean.. I'll try giving them a call.

Hmmm, I'd be weary about that mileage if you haven't any documented history to verify this. Have you tried HPI'ing the car?

I absolutely deplore car owners who don't keep records of their cars especially given one breeding such as a GTA. There's no excuse to lose a key and info packs etc, and usually means there is something to hide. You say the car may have had a shunt at some point, given there's no history I hope for your sake this isn't a cut'n'shut.

Good luck with your search, if you can find out where the car was first registered i.e dealership you maybe able to start there. As pointed out by Ghostydog the registration normal relates to which part of the country the car was registered, almost like a zip code you might say.

Hmm yeah an hpi check showed up everything fine.

I think the mileage is correct, because I was able to do a search on the government website with the number plate on MOT's, and it shows an honest rise in the miles over the course of it's life. If it wasn't for that, I doubt I'd have bought the car. A for Alfa, Alfa Workshop, Alfa Aid, Autolusso have all looked at the car since I got it, and no-one has said anything about it being a dodgy one, just A for Alfa thought it had had a bash on the front at some point. But it's all good now..

Certainly worth trying mango's

That's good news fella:)

Just remains to see whether anyone on here knows the car, otherwise finding anything out about the motor will prove nion imposs.

I think as long as the motor is mechanically sound and your willing to invest time and effort then enjoy:)
