Hi Throttleman,
I have found more info off this site in 3 hours than 2 weeks on other sites.
I have a 156 1.8ts on a W Petrol,It now has a Viper pipercross cold air induction kit on.I think its standard i think other than that.I have looked at my manifold and i am not sure if that is.Do all alfa's manifolds have a 4 pipe leaving into 2 then into 1.Not sure if this is standard.
I bought this Alfa instead of 2L or 3L ive seen cos its a manual the other ones where all sellaspeed and ive heard bad things can happen and love manuals.
It has a rear spoiler and skirt i have original wheels 185.65.15 Alfa alloys.
It doesnt say any spec though so i suppose it was a cheap one i even have the cord seats.I wouldnt part with it for the world though, Even with its creaks and rattles.Ive had a BMW 320I and Laguna RTI sport prior to having this and this is way more fun it may not be fast but can go round corners great which is great cos you cant go to fast around this way any way but not slowing down for corners is more fun i think.

Hi,
The help i required was reseting my ECU,I tried it yesterday and it worked great but this morning i started it up and it ticks over like a bag of spanners,(dont know if its right)I installed an induction kit on it and am having problems locating it so it doesnt suck up water,I have tried alsorts but i am still getting water in my home made induction hose.(I hope none is in my engine)
I am getting that anoyed with it im concidering fitting the original filter etc back on it.
I think i will have to give it some time to settle in maybe, Dont Know.

Lol, The amount of people i phoned, sorry to get you confused with others.
Ive spent a small fortune phoning all Alfa dealers in my service book that was supplied with my car and was unable to get the advice i needed. They where either not Alfa dealers anymore or not in or unused number.
R u the nice fella who was going to ask his friend about my dilema and get back to me?
Or r u the nice bloke from the shop who gave me some instructions on how to reset my ECU ?

Neither I suspect....we spoke about the problems with induction kits and how the Twinspark doesn't really like them...:D

The ticking over could be another problem such as the idle control valve although it's a bit suspect having gone after the reset. How is the car now?

It seems to be ok now i have re positioned the air intake(Homemade with a empty 3L plastic bottle) to a lower place.
I was told that the height for induction kits intake is 500mm off the ground because of water and I have been struggling getting it that high.I was also told that a bit of water is good for performance and any water will be atomized and allowed into the engine.I was told that as long as the air intake was not submerged in water it would be fine.
I have since re positioned it approx 300mm off the ground with an air tight air intake from original air intake in spoiler.
I also have been told that a forced cold air intake is useless below 100mph .So far with the various positions that its been I find that without forced air a even low speeds it's useless.
I would add that this is early days yet but since the new move it better.
If anybody disagrees with the information i have been told then please feel free to let me know.
