You can sit in a car for hours, get out and walk about.
Go to the cinema, sit through a two hour movie, and walk out unaided.
Same thing on a train, or a plane. Even sit all night in front of the telly, no problems walking.

Why is it then, after sitting on the bog for ten minutes, you loose complete use of your legs.. :)

Circulation malfunction maybe? Dunno' really, but I have recently fitted a bath hand rail/ grip aid for some neighbours as the lady of the house has difficulty getting up in the standing position after breaking her hip? Maybe you need a similar pole or summat to grab and assist? :D

Sat there with your elbows on your knees/thighs while reading the daily paper can cut your circulation off, I know, I do it everyday!

I seem to remember it's a widely held miscomprehension that the problem is cutting off your circulation. Pins and needles are caused by compression of the nerves, not the blood flow.
