From your link it looks like that is the balance chain kit rather than the cam chain. Probably worth doing while you are doing the cam chain though. No idea about the quality of the kit though, sorry.

Thanks for pointing that out - I didn't realize that there are two chain kits that need to get done.

A further question about using the GM parts to do the cam chain job. Looking at this Vectra 2.2 kit, which is MUCH cheaper than the full kit from Alfa.

Is anybody able to confirm that this will work on the AR 2.2JTS motor please? My mechanic says that everything looks the same to him and seems to be there - except that this kit includes the variator gears only and not the complete variator - but reckons that's not a big issue, as it can still be fitted.

Anybody used a GM kit like this and it worked please?

In my ongoing search to be prepared when my timing chain does need to get done - I've been searching eBay.com for GM 2.2 kits and found this (there are MANY at similar prices) -

That's the timing chain kit and balance chain kit for about $80 (£55).....

Anybody in agreement that it's worth ordering and checking if it will work?
It is for the same year GM 2.2 motor - so I see no reason why it won't be compatible - looks like the same thing to me that they want £300 for on eBay UK.
