Cam belt question

This has probably been asked and answered before on the forum, but finding such things is never easy so I'll ask here. I have an unused cam belt service kit for my GTA Sportwagon (that I'm trying to sell, if anyone's interested), purchased before the car went in for its new wings and respray. Pandemic and various other things meant I never got around to having the service done, and since it's now an embarrassing eight years since it was last done, I thought I'd better book it in to my local guy to do. He did the last one, and knows what he's about. So, the question. Is the unused cam belt, with a date on the box of August 2018, going to be OK, or should I buy a new, fresher one? It's been stored in a shed, so variable temperatures, but in a box, so dark. What do you reckon?

Given that labour costs are the greater component of a cambelt change I would get a newer belt. The other parts, tensioner etc should be ok. For £ 60 for a genuine belt from Alfaworkshop I think it's worth it.

Thanks. This was my thinking, but thought it worth asking. For the sake of £60 it's not worth risking a broken motor.
