Right, weekend all planned on my new GT (weather dependant)

1. Brake calipers and wheel hubs to de-corrode and paint
2. Rear bumper to replace (Picked up 1 today)
3. Both door straps to fix or replace (Will try mentioned hammer technique 1st) (straps on order at dealer not paid yet)
4. Stone chips to re-do after bodge job by previous seller.

Busy weekend but gonna enjoy it, just wondering if anyone has any top tricks/tips for any of these (hopefully painless) jobs. If no tips just pray for sunshine :)

Hope you can help a little guys n gals

This is a lengthy one but he also uses the rag technique a bit later.

You may be worried about the "rag technique" but it covers up loads of little scratches etc. Get some G3 compound paste to rub down the excess paint. Don't be tempted to go in too quickly mind, let the paint set a bit. I have tried this and it is pretty easy and effective - just time consuming.

Door straps - Just wait for the new ones mate. Why hammer them and risk damaging the paint to any degree...even if it is inside the door shuts. Yeah, no one would see but I would know about it and it would anger me. New ones are better, take it from someone who wasted cash on 2 sets of 2nd handers!!! New ones on now and they are awesome.

Nice, lets us know who you get on with cleaning the calipers and wheel hubs, I was going to do mine when I did the pads & disc replacement earlier this year, but left it untill another time.

What colour are you going to be painting the calipers?

Calipers are going to be red, got red leather so it sort of goes just gotta make sure i do a good job and take my time.
Paid £120 for bumper in exact colour match but it had more chips and deep scratches than the guy said, still a great price (to cheap to be fair) but my bumper is in a lot better condition just got a pressed in side which im gonna heat up and hopefully re-shape it.
