Well for research purposes only I have checked what I can get from the 3.2 in city driving. So far I was pleasantly suprised when I got it up to 8km/l, compare this to my 2.0TS 147 which managed 8.8km/l ! I know this is no way to treat a GT, as I said reasearch purposes only

Have owned it for a week now, fantastic car

Its only suprising how often you find yourself filling up it up. As well I found it surprising that when you travel from Gauteng to the northern states you can only get 93 Ron. Coming back from Kruger, not a single 95 pump until the N4 if you come down the eastern back route. Next time I must carry jerry can of 95 ron if I want to tour Kruger more than 1 day.

Maybe unsurprisingly I get worse fuel economy here than in U.K., by about 2mpg, or 1km\litre. I do not know if the electronic gizmos are constantly re-calibrating to better that.

Perhaps the best myth is that the busso chnages characteristic after "100,000 miles". The myth surrounds other landmark milo-kilometerage covered in your beloved...does the ECU infact auto-change programming once the odometer reaches 40-, 80-, 120,000 km. Your engineer will tell you they loosen with age, but is there any electronic mode changing.

The octane level in the UK is actually higher than in SA my guess is that the change in consumption is related to that and the fact that you were closer to sea level.

Mine is 10,2 l/100 I drive highway to work with 0 traffik and I leave work at about 6pm with moderate crap. Thats what the on board display tells me but my calculations show 11.3 l/100km ,the old fashion way fill up and check distance travelled using autostop with fill ups. both are good as far as I am concerned. Travell at about 130 when I can .

For the onboard, I get about 11.6l current running average, mix of short trips, and highway. In U.K. now I have done the correct conversions, I used to average 11.3l, on long highways doing 120kmh, drops down to 9.7l. In real terms doing full fill up at petrol station versus odometer, I am getting 12.2l in South Africa, v. 11.3l in U.K. However the ECU was re-mapped (resulting in better fuel economy in UK), but 7k rpm limiter still in place. Now I wonder if it has somehow permanently reset, but feels quicker than official 6.7s to 100km\h, but reckon all GTs do.

Interesting discussion but sh*t guys I wish you would all use the same fuel consumption methodology. The recognised correct standard is litres/100km so the higher the figure the worse the consumption. No offence to anyone just thought I would mention. :)

On my 2,5 V6 I am currently getting on average 10.4 l/100km round town and 9l/100km on long trips.

My current V6 has a MUCH better fuel consumption than the pre-facelift one although they supposedly have the same engines. I noticed it immediately I got the Ti. The old one averaged about 13l/100km.

Half my daily commute is fast freeway driving and the rest stop start.

Ok ok so I then get 12l/100km in town, yet to take it on the open road.
My 147 2.0 TS got 11.2l/100km in town, it always thought that was pretty bad.

My 156 is surprising! It does 7.3L/100km in peak on the N1! I travel 2km to the R300, then 5km to the N1 then crawl 23km to Cape Town in 2nd, 3rd and 4th including standing in neutral at certain spots as well...
