We seem to have lots of threads in here aboiut powder coating, but can anyone recomend alloy repairs beyond that:thinks:? I had the old girl serviced yesterday, only to be told that one of my wheels has fallen victem to a pot-hole back in the big freeze:cry:. I couldn't see the damage as it's on the inside rim (I had thought one of my wheel bearings was on the way out :tut:). So, I'm looking for a good/reasonabl wheel repair to get me sorted.

Thanks for this. they look exactly like what I need:thumbs: Don't know why I didn't find them in my own search, but I know exactly where they are (my other brother used to own a shop on the other side of the high street in Carnwath):D
I'll try and get a spin up to see them at the weekend and let folks know how I get on ;)

Frank, did you get the repair done? If so, was it any good?

Got a rear wheel like a 50p on the inside, meaning the tyre won't keep the air in once the weight of the car is on it.

Already ordered a wheel to replace it, but I wouldn't mind having a spare.

I personally would stay well clear of wheel services in Coatbridge. I used them when they were previously located in Plains by Airdrie. Absolutely appalling finish & not nice people to deal with!!!!

Maybe change of ownership with change of location, but website is the same

I have a set that need done & I'm looking at Powdertec in Tradeston.

I dont think powdertec will do the repairs though - only the powder coat.

I used Powdertec for the 147, theys were very expensive (came reccomended) and the finish wasnt perfect.

On that basis, I have been using Chameleon at Renfrew Ferry, similar finish to powder tec at 2/3rds of the price.

I seen that Living Social deal, but it didnt say what size it was up to, or if it included tyre fitting.

According to the website, they do repairs a well as coating. Seems to start at £97 plus VAT per wheel though.

Mine has two dents on the inside, so it might be an expensive job.

second hand wheel and a good tyre from Alfa Specialists only cost £162 inc delivery.
