the timing belt on my 04 plate 156 jts broke the other day
there is engine damage although the garage rekon they can fix it, for £1500
has anyone out there has this done? will the engine ever run like it should again?

There will be bent valves, which means the head needs to come off and be rebuilt. Not sure about the JTS, but on the twinnies you also have to change the big-end bearings, as they often sustain damage. I doubt the JTS is any different.

Iain rebuilt the engine on my wifes 156 and the engine runs better than before. As you are practically neighbours I would get in touch with him first.

Our TS is better than when it was new! We had new piston rings and the bores "glaze busted" as well and oil consumption is negligable where before it was usual 1 litre in 1000-1500 miles.
