I have been looking at a nice low milage 2009 58 plate 2.2JTS Brera as a replacement for my 159, up until the 159 replacement appears. I am a little puzzled though. Both my 159 and our 946 Spider both have the 4 pot Brembo callipers with 'Alfa Romeo' on the side. The Brera I have looked at has what almost look like rear callipers, quite small. Whilst I'm sure its correct, it seems a little odd to me.

Later 159/Brera had Brembos on the smaller engines too though, but smaller Brembos than the larger engines & Ti's.

The Brembo's are only on the larger, heavier engine cars by default. (2.4 & 3.2) the 2.2 doesn't have them.
Both our 1.9 JTDM 159 SW and 2.2JTS Spider both have Brembo brakes, but not to be confussed with the red Brembo callipers.

Thats strange, the Brera I'm looking at is newer (2009) than both our current cars (2008)

Do you have Ti ?
They all have the 330mm Brembos regardless of engine size.

I think it was 2010 that all the small engines got the smaller Brembos (with the small engine Ti still having the bigger 330 Brembos).

What do you mean...?
Both our cars have the (smaller) aluminium (not red) 4 pot Brembo callipers on. they might not be red but I understand the callipers with Alfa Romeo etched on th eside are made by Brembo.

My old 1.9 Jtd delivered in 2006 had single piston calipers, my mates, same engine (Lusso), delivered in 2008, had 4 piston 'brembo type' calipers in silver.

A correction to my earlier post.
2.2 Brera got the small Brembos (replacing the basic single-piston caliper) from 15th March 2008 production.

So the 2009 car that the OP is looking at is actually older than the 2008 cars he already has...
