 When you set the air temperature value does this control the temperature that the air is fed in at or the internal temperature target that the system will try to maintain?

If it is the latter how can this work in dual zone mode with a single temperature sensor?

My understanding of climate control is that you set the target temp and the incoming air is adjusted to obtain and then maintain this value so dual zone must have 2 sensors.

It does work ZF. But only by about +/-3 deg C

Maybe it sets the temp for the highest one and then just adjusts
the blown air temp slightly for the colder one without actually measuring?

(I prefer my original hypothesis. :))

The temperature set is the target for the centre of the car.

By internal calculation the computer provides proportionally warmer or cooler off coil air to the other 1 or 2 (159 can have tri-zone) zoned outlets from the mixer box by adjustment to the dampers.
