Hello

I have a 2009 brera 2.4 jtdm with 14k on the clock and after another vist to my local dealer with the same problem with the clutch ( makes a springy / clonky type noise ) when changing through the gears ..they have told me that the slave cylinder needs replacing (under warrenty) along with some 'shims' that are attached to the rear calipers ?....Brakes have been noisy..

Can anyone please tell me if these are common faults ??

The rear calipers tend to stick on due to the sliding bolts needing a good clean and grease. Never heard of the clutch going that way it's usually a dmf problem.

I'm having the exactly same problem (springy/clonky type noise when changing through the gears & slowing down) with my '08 Brera S. I'm taking mine into the garage in 2 weeks, as I've just under 3 months left on the warrenty.
Can you let me know how you get on & if your problems are resolved, so I know to go armed with this info when I pop my Brera in on the 9th Sept?
Regarding the rear brakes, mine were noisey too. That went after a services on them... though still minor noise still when coming to a slow stop (better than the awful noise before).

No problem Fra5er82 Im hopefully taking it in Saturday (when the part arrives) and leaving it with them whilst Im on Holiday , Im hoping to pick it up as soon as I come back but that wont be until the 12th and they will have had yours a couple off days by then ..

When I took it in first time they regreased it and said it might do the trick but if not it points at the cylinder being at fault so Im sure they know off the fault(S) ....

I will keep you posted

Glad it's fixed.

Clutch master cylinder went on my 2007 Q4 Brera. Dealership at the time wasn't surprised and I think this was a fairly common fault.

My Brera's going in the Western in Perth... though they've told me they may take the gear box apart! I'm thinking my problem def sounds like a replacement clutch master cylinder would fix it, so taking the gear box apart sounds like it will only leave a legacy of problems after (especially as my warranty end's 31st Oct'11!). Do you think I'm right, as I'm thinking I'll try to stand my ground that its just a CMC issue?

cheers all ...Im glad its fixed as was driving me up the wall ....

Id definately stand my ground and ask about CMC replacement ...But what ever they do should be under warrnety ? Id have thought that its in there interest to start at the cylinder rather than start stripping the gearbox ? ...When mine was booked in they didnt hesiate with sudjesting the cylinder needed changing so I agree with RSK .They must know its a common fault ...
