Hey All,

Car is in the garage at the moment and the squealing on cold start has been found to be caused by the alternator pulley.

I have bought a new alternator pulley, but nobody (literally nobody) as the special tool to remove the existing one.

To describe what it looks like:

It has an outer spline that unscrews the pulley and a 10mm socket which fits through the spline to lock the alternator shaft in order to unscrew. Almost every other car also has an inner spline to hold the alternator shaft still but the Brera has a socket.

Anybody successfully removed this/knows where to get hold of the tool.

I really dont want to change the entire alternator.

Any help would be great,

Stefano

Think i may have solved my own problem. Looks like Gates sell a kit. Part No. GAT4955A if anyone is interested. Looks like all new Gen alfas (mito's etc) use similar alternator clutch systems and therefore need this kit to remove them.
