Hi, on my 156 v6 (2002 version) the subwoofer of the Bose system makes something rattle when there is too much bass. It is on the right hand / rear side. Is it correct that there is only a speaker/subwoofer on the right/rear ? The left speaker grill looks and sounds empty. Is this a general problem with an easy solution or will I have to strip the rear shelf to find what is making the rattling noise?

I assume you have a saloon.

If so I'd advise you to get hold of some Dynamat or other vibration dampening material and cover the area around the parcelshelf and subwoofer..
The parcelshelf itself is just a thin piece of plastic/fibreglas covered with cloth on one side, this will cause ratteling against the metal structure of the car. Also there are some wires under there that could be ratteling - wrap these in foam.

The sub is only on the right.
