This ones just popped up on 'the other place' I visit (UKSAABS), caused much hilarity, when compared with the servicing of SAABs.

Seems overly complicated even when compared to my 156 V6.

Remember this is a general service item, so should be within the capability of even the most modest of mechanic. Like changing plugs, oil, coolant, associated filters and screenwash!

"Time required = 1.25hrs"

It's not uncommon to see BMW dealers labour rates at £100 per hour...... that's an expensive air filter.

Wow. I started to read this thinking "put all your prejudice aside, it can't be that bad"... Makes the 159 / Brera look like a piece of cake. :)

BMW main dealer quotes 45mins to an hour for a wheel change on a Z3, ie remove wheel, fit spacesaver, spend a week trying to find somewhere to carry the punctured wheel.

The helpful chap who posted the how-to guide ends with the following line...

"To whoever designed the 330d airbox/filter setup, I'd like to kick your a$$."

Which made me smile. :)
