Did this a while back - just thought I would share :)

My bargain BMC CDA arrived today

Car up on axle stand

Intake removed & battery tray out - 13mm & 10mm sockets & 10mm spanner

'snorkel' prised off the airbox & bolt removed with 8mm socket from underside

Bracket removed from rear of airbox with 10mm socket to ease removal

I undid electrical connectors to give more room

Airbox half way out

Result - it's out! - bit of jiggery pokery involved getting it through coolant pipes etc

Old & new

Bolts in existing airbox sheared (of course! [:p] ) while removing MAF housing (10mm socket)

I 'kinked' the fixing strap through 90º to enable fixing of CDA

I fixed the strap using the same bolts that fix the fan to the rad (8mm socket)

CDA then fixed to this using 10mm sockets

Battery tray & intake re-fitted

Have beer while doing write-up [:D]

Not fitted duct to bottom of CDA yet [:$] , but will do so before driving in the p*ssing rain [:D]

Induction noise is great! Performance wise slightly better, but assume it will imrove when ducting is fitted
At the mo I suspect my set-up is creating suction within the CDA

Ok not sure I'd wanna go through the prosses of fitting that, as my technical abbiliaty is bad(really really bad).
Where could i pick one of these up and also have it fitted at the same time??

I would have thought any decent 'tune-up' place could supply / fit one, but there's not that much to it really if you can turn a spanner :)

Thread ressurection time :)

Where did you buy the red silicone pipe (I assume it's a reducer?)? I have a BMC CDA and an Autodelte carbon pipe (on it way) and may need a few of these.

No worries - if you know what size hose you need I'll measure the one I have & stick it in the post if it's any use

Thanks :)

I'm hoping to attach the CDA to the autodelta pipe and move the maf up near the throttle body so I'll need to pull everything apart and mesure it all up.
