Was the mother in laws an iPod Touch as well or just a standard iPod or memory stick?

Hmm this is interesting as my ipod touch doesn't work on B&M either, but I haven't bothered trying to fix this as I have an older ipod for car use. Is yours windows based and has FAT32?

Hang on, I may be mistaken, but I thought the iTouchy
could not be made (out of the box) to be seen as a normal
disk drive. They hamstrung the software on purpose
wrt the iPhoney.

You need to hack it.

Bloody crApple.
