the corporate wolves are circulating, baying for blood.

Mine.

Next week, all their failures will be attributed to me.

When you instruct me to cook a chicken, why is it my fault when you fail to present the cake you were meant to make?

And after many years, i'm now so tired, I'm tempted to just chuck in the towel.

But in my heart, my (naive) belief is that the good always win...you must not give in when you've done all the right things, even when a crass dirty-tricks campaign means that the odds are stacked against you.

Forza....truth and honesty. They should always be there, no matter how loud the wolves are howling.

Rough day Scudetto?

I also believe the good will win. Keep the faith.

The warm glow of knowing you are right will keep you going.

g,

You sound low as well as weary. Do you want to talk here or by PM even if it is just to have some release?

A superb image.

You have my sympathy - just remember that being honest WILL prevail - you are constant whilst they are merely transient.

Getting older doesn't help though does it?

Well said Paul.

Although it sounds like Scudetto has been instructed to cook a turkey.

Always a tough situation to be in.

Commiserations.

hello Jim.

i am indeed weary and drained of the fight now. But i won't give in to it. Not because i'm arrogant, but because wrongness is trying to take over and blame me for its failings, and i can't let that happen. I'm zapped of energy, but i can't let their wrongness go unchallenged. I've got to spend this precious bank holiday weekend building my case and my preparing presentation...i know i will lose because the result is predetermined...but i still have a roar in my heart... :)

they are transient, Paul; they spend 18 months creating a whirlwind of chaos then, having wrecked everything that was good and successful in order to achieve nothing at all, they then **** off to destroy another company, leaving us to trawl through the wreckage they have left.

F88kwits; please, why can't we just shoot them?

Sounds rough.

I consider myself a bit of a disaster recovery specialist. If you need help, or just a listening ear, just ask.

I can maybe identify - albeit loosely.

I have been a manager for the same organisation for over 30 years. I reached a certain point 20 years ago and got no further. Why? - because I was honest and treated people decently. This was, of course, company policy but, in reality, not what was required in real time. Don't get me wrong I am no rebel but I could not be bothered with the in house politics.

I stuck to being me - guess what - all of a sudden my "skills" (being a fundamentally decent human being - ignore my perceived persona here) are recognised - promotion resulted recently and honesty is now in fashion - for how long I don't know but I'll use my enhanced influence help people whilst it lasts.

My point - stick to your principles (and I have no doubts that Scudetto will) and your time, no matter how fleeting, will come.

Good post Paul.

At the end of every day you have to be able to sleep knowing you've done the right thing. If that means you lose sleep over whether you have a job to go to in the morning, so be it.

Never sell your integrity.

Wow - long live the roar - don't automatically assume it is in vain - if you have the will then hope is not entirely lost.

Get your head down and get your stretgy sorted out to the best of your ability. You can do no more but do that and believe in your case.

Know this though - you are not alone. We are here to lend support and it can be emotional support or practical support, because many of us have had to kick against the pricks* in the past (or even in the present) in a business sense. If you need help g, just ask.

Best wishes to you, Scudetto -- and you, too, Mr Foot, I'd forgotten all about your situation...

Adversity can bring out the best of yourself sometimes.

I'm sure many on here could offer some good advice.

Have you thought of running through your presentation
with an ally over something like Webex ?

;)

Not yet. I know you are weary, but rise up. Explain your self as clearly and as unambiguously as you can. I appreciate that they may have an agenda, but you can and should make it as difficult as possible for them to carry it out.

My thoughts are wish you. (And you, Bigfoot). Good luck.

g, Good luck with it, you know we are all behind you. For what it's worth my situation is almost identical to Paul's description - not that you ever know how long it will last.

I'm sure you'll have a tremendous presentation. It sounds like you are having to defend your role or, worse, have been accused of some wrong-doing.

All I can say without the facts is decide on your strategy before preparing the presentation. You can defend reactively whatever points/allegations they've raised or you can proactively attack their argument with positives from your side and highlighting examples of their poor judgement to date in as cold and calculating manner as you can muster.

Keep roaring. It is better to die on your feet than live on your knees.
