Hi Guys,

I have a 2014 2.0 JTDM-2 TCT sportiva diesel, i seem to get FAR better fuel economy in Dynamic mode on the motorway, does anyone else find this? I bought the car used so im wondering if it has any kind of upgrade done to it. In N mode i get around 40mpg on a motorway run, in D mode sitting at 70-80mph i get around 50mpg. This seems... odd

I wouldnt have expected much difference. In either mode you are still moving the same amount of metal at the same speed.

I get around 52mpg on the motorway in mind but I never use anything other than D.

There's a theory that the EGR isn't operational in D which could offer an explanation?

Peak torque occurs a little higher in 'D' (1750rpm) so I've wondered if that might result in very slight improvement. Peak torque for 'N' is 1500 rpm so you'd expect a slight improvement at lower speeds.

In the real world though, as Symon suggests, I think you'd be hard put to measure a definitive difference at constant speeds.
