Just wondering what you all think the best MP3 library software is? I used RealOne player on my old PC and thought that was alright but it did start to get slow when the number of tracks in the database built up. I don't like Windows Media Player or iTunes, so are there any alternatives to using RealOne player again?

I need it to have the function that renames & moves into folders the files based on the information in the MP3's tag.

Such as C:\My Music\Artist Name\Album Name\01 - Track Name.mp3

Cheers :)

I used to actually quite like sony's sonicstage
as it used to have a graphical map-like artist/genre link
feature.

Sadly I'm currently using iTunas.

Yes it's a total piece of crap and probably the
one piece of software I use that hangs/crashes all the
time.

The ONLY reason I stick with iTunes is to buy/rent
movies and US TV shows.

And you need it to transfer rental films to
the iPod too. :)mad:)

I've not really looked into alternatives but there must be
something better out there. Anyone?

I'm using VLC Media player at the moment, just to open the files I want to listen to. Thats pretty good and is much better than WM player..

Dunno why you all harp on about itunes being rubbish, it's always worked perfectly fine on every machine I've owned and used it on.

And if you set iTunes to organise your music it does EXACTLY what Dan wants with the directory structure on import of your MP3s

Itunes works reasonably well, though I can never get it to play FLAC's so thats about half my music collection useless lol

I'm sure there is a way but really I cant be bothered to find out.

I honestly don't get what the problem is with iTunes

Seems strange that you say it crashes all the time Nev, have never heard that before and there was me thinking you were actually good with computers :p

Who said I was good with PCs !?
All lies! Spread by people who don't want to pay to
get stuff fixed.

:p

iTunes has some nice ideas but it is basically
a large turd with a DRM stick firmly pushed into it.

I tolerate it because I can buy/rent/watch films on it and
can't be bothered to hack the crap out of the iTouchy.

It does amuse me to hear mates carping on about
how they "jailbroke" their iPod/iPhone and how
easy it all is once you've got a shell up and you can.... [snore]

Exactly why I don't touch it, as well as most hardware/software made by Sony. Too much DRM nonesense.

Think I'll stick get RealOne player again, cheers all :)
