I have owned a few Alfas over the years!.... 155 2.5v6 12v..... 166 3.0 Super... Mito and three Giuliettas including my wonderful Alfa red, Sprint Speciale 170 ma!....Always wanted a GTA but never happened!.... What do you think is the greatest Alfa Romeo?

Tipo 33 stradale? or earlier, 1935 Bi motore -Nuvolari recorded at over 200 mph in 1935 but handled terribly.There are quite a few canditates really -when Alfa was a truly class leading, innovative manufacturer and laid the foundations of the rich heritage we all refer to today.

When I was a kid my stepfather had a 1973 GT Junior 1600...that was very special...
Maybe the Alfetta GTV V6 As in the one Roger Moore drove like he stole it in Octopussy) because of the busso... ? Or the early 2.0 spiders, as per The Graduate and Day of the Jackal?
As for later cars... I've owned four 156s 2.4jtd, 2.5V6 x 2 and two GTAs (one saloon and one sportwagon)
My first Alfa was a 156 v6....maybe less serious/more fun than a GTA..due to being able to rag a 2.5 slightly more safely..
166 3.0 is more special than all the 156es but none of these would be close to the best Alfas of the late '60s-early 1970s...which were cutting edge for their times...along with the Lancias of course Flavias, Fulvias etc.
Late 60's early 70s probably the best Alfa era... Spider, Guilia Sprint and GTA...AlfaSud...

How do you rate 170 MA compared to the 3.2 v6?.... My 166 3.0 Super sounded majestic. For a 1.4 the 170 is not far behind for speed and sounds good! Also feels better to drive than the 166!... sometimes cannot believe it's only 1400!

The 3.2 v6 is something everyone should get a chance to drive. Its so smooth and just roars the whole way through the revs getting louder all the time

had a 155 v6 a few years ago, was a track car, in 1994 it cost 28k with its mods from brodie brittan racing, peaky engine that was a real screamer
when it blew up i replace the engine with a 3.0 12 v engine, that had balls like a spianish donkey, was brilliant
i theink the best alfa could be the new Giiulia
