Just popped to Benfield Alfa today to pick up some Selenia engine oil and managed to get some info regarding the Alfa franchise with some great news!

At the moment the Fiat Showroom is being rebuilt for Skoda and Kia!

The Alfa showroom is now back where it was!

Benfield seem to be no longer selling Fiats but are servicing both them and Alfas at Railway Street.

By the end of October Benfield hope to have moved the Alfa Franchise including a service centre to Portland Road where Skoda and Kia are now housed.

Now the good news.......Steve Horn, one of the best Alfa mechanics I have had work on my car has returned to Alfa from Chrysler, as has Mark who went to Audi!

The workshop manager has left, the reason I left Benfield!

I just hope that Kerry, the Service Reception Manager at Railway Street moves to Portland Road with Alfa as she is the most helpful person there!

So all in all, good news although they will have to go some to match the service provided by Rob Little and his colleagues down at Alexanders in Thornaby.

Good luck to them and welcome back Steve and Mark, I just hope Kerry joins them.

All well and good, but they'll still be charging main dealer prices for servicing etc :(
To be honest they really aren't that much more expensive than our local 'specialist'......and you get main dealer back up, a loan car and a 'valet' after your service!

You've got a point there and with Roswells post, its certainly food for thought

And now that Steve Horn is back, my 7 year old, 140,000 mile 156 will definately be going back to Benfield's unless Alexanders can offer me a servicing deal I can't refuse! There is absolutely no reason to use our local 'specialist' especially as they still refuse to take the blame for the massive dent in my door!

Apparently he's the best. ;)
Went to the new site today to see if I could gleen anymore info.......and Roswell is right........seemingly the new head Salesman IS the best Alfa have got.

The new service centre handover is due on October 18th with the showroom soon after, although looking at the site at the moment they will have to go some to achieve that.

Initially there will only be 2 technicians to work on Alfas BUT in my opinion they ARE 2 of the the best.........and don't expect any new dolly birds on reception.......you will be greeted by Kevin, met him today, seemed like a nice chap......and that's about it for now!

It will be good for Benfield and Alexanders to have some competition, I see no reason why any of us would want to use our independant 'specialist' when these two are up to speed and both will offer discounted labour rates for older Alfas.......yippee!
