Just read a post in another room in AO about the amount of SPAM and viruses going about - thought I'd pass a few handy links to software I use to my favourite AO room.

So there is no excuse to be infected or to spread viruses...

Free AV software.

Free Anti Spam Software (kind of Anti Spam - it will help remove your address from lists and you can view all your mail on the server and choose to download.)

Correct. You must make sure whatever AV software you use is updated at least once a week.

The big brother to the Free AVG (AVG Professional) by default checks and performs any updates on a daily basis, at one point there was 3 or 4 updates coming out a day, they're really on the ball.

The only thing I would add to your list is Ad-Aware which is a free program for scanning your for Spyware and Ad-Aware and deletes it.

I run 2 anti-virus on my work laptop.

McAfee ASAP which the company have a corporate license but this does not have email scanning

and Panda Anti-virus which includes email scanning and we have a 20 user license.

I use norton on all my home computers but don't run it with other antivirus because it seems to work so well.
