Ive set up my ctek battery conditioner/charger in the garage, first time I have used it on the Spider, after disconnecting the charger, when starting the car to pull out the garage I had the VDC and Hill Holder unavailable warning messages. Started going down the road and everything went back to normal. Is this normal when using a maintenance charger?

ABS, VDC and HillHolder are top three electrical onboard suckers who are not enough power.
If you still have original battery, just open battery cells and check inner plates. They should be fully up with acid. Be careful since acid inside. No Armani, Versace outfit.
If not ( I am sure for this ) top plates with pure H2O water, charge battery and top again. It may save battery. If battery is impossible to open just be ready to replace it soon.

Perhaps it wasn't connected? I'm not sure of your description whether you disconnected the charger before starting (or how long a gap there was)

In any case your warnings are because the systems checks failed. Normally this is because of low voltage at the time of checking (just as the key is inserted)

The battery is an RAC battery fitted within the last two years, fitted by the previous owner. It is sealed, it was showing in the window black (in need of charge) before charging, now its showing Green (meaning fully charged). The Charger was only removed within a minute of starting the car which it looks like it didn't like. I have started the car a few times over the last few days and it seems to be fine, no faults displaying. Maybe its something I might have to get used to when its hooked up to this. Only thing I can think is the charger says in the instructions it will hold the battery at 14.4V, with me removing the charger this will have caused a drop, just before starting?

No, disconnected charger then started within a few minutes.
