Hi

I have the following probs with my 156 alfa, which is cause great distress. MOT is also due so would like to try and sort these probs out myself:

1/ Rear tail lights stay on all the time and drains batt.

2/ One rear tail/brake light is very dim (other side is ok).

3/ Both front side lights don't switch on (would they both blow at the same time?)

Thanks for any help.

1&2 You might have a bad eath somewhere in the back.
3 Quite possible, one burns out the other get over current and blows soon. I would first try changing both see what's happening.

I think the computer that works the body lights has failed, and it is part of the rev counter. You probably need a new one, but it would be a good idea to check earths and fuses first just in case..

Thanks for the help. I have found a rev counter on eBay. I think the dim rear light might be an earth (although the brake filiment work brightly). Can any one tell me were it earths?
