Hi all,
After some wait while the dealer messed about & appeared to do absolutely nothing to my car I'm finally back in Alfa Romeo a very different animal to my old 155 1.8 TS though now I've got a Silver 2.5 V6 166 on a W plate & I know a lot of you aren't going to like the sound of this, but... she's dual fuel. This is my 6th dual fuel car & I've not had a gas related problem with any of them (touch wood this will keep up the good work) this should be the best yet running an injection system so like my old Porsche it doesn't lose any power (1 day old & I've already been testing it lol). Anyway back to the car it's high mileage (110k miles) but it's been looked after body work like new only one small tear in the back seat cloth, timing belt at the correct mileage, a new AFM not long ago & a new Lamba sensor at the start of the year plus various other things. She'll be getting a full Momo leather Alfa logo interior in the next few days when I get round to collecting it. Anyay that's my hello's & hopefully this one will cause me less grief than the 155 did but if it's as much fun which I already know it feels like it will be,( it certainly feels faster especially with the sport button pressed)
Steve, :) :D :D    :cheese: :cheese: :cheese: :cheese:

Re: Back in an Alfa

 OMG I can't believe I did that!!! That's from doing ebay searches & being half asleep.
We were leaving a restraunt that we've used a few times last night & got a "that's a very nice car" from the waitress as the other half & I left (Tip was OK nothing special by the way  ) Now I've owned a lot of cars including a couple of classic BMW's a Porsche & a couple of Alpines (That's Renault I've not missspelt BMW) & that has only ever happened at car shows & with the Alpines from an obvious co-petrolhead in a garage. I think it must have been the new 5 series parked in front of it making it look even better you now what they say about having ugly friends to make you look good lol
Pics will be up as soon as I sort out the digital camera, it thinks it's an old Alfa lately lol.
That Sport button should not be pressed when your behind another car, that's a tip for anyone else thinking of getting a 166 V6 by the way (At least not whilst leaving a junction, that was far too close (yes that was the look on my face at the top)) Any way a couple of hours into ownership I've got to admit I was thinking I'd made the wrong choice, having to turn her round in a small packed car park with very small walls and a steep drop for an entrance ramp certainly had me scared & definitely didn't help, I've never needed parking sensors before but I was wishing it had them doing that, but now I'm falling in love with it & I really most stop using the full rev range that noise is far too addictive:)
P.S The ICS has claimed at one point by the way that I was getting 26 mpg with stop start driving, more than a little optimistic I think but if it was true I'm going to be over the moon at 38p per litre, we'll see what it claims after a 150 mile round trip on mostly motorway I'm doing later today & what she's actually done :inlove:
