Hi guys,

I haven't posted here since about February when I sold my last Alfa. I bought myself a 1996 145 1.6 Boxer on Christmas Eve and I'm loving it.

It was bought from a fellow enthusiast and is pretty good, but there are a couple of small issues such as the slow electric windows to be sorted.

Also, getting parts from my local motor factor is proving to be interesting. A 1 week wait for a water pump and belts!? It's a 1996 Alfa, not exactly exotic! :D

Anyway, I just wanted to reintroduce myself, I see some familiar faces here and lots of new ones as well. It's great to be back in an Alfa, especially a Boxer engined Alfa.

I've had two boxer engined Alfas before, a 1989 1.7 Sprint Cloverleaf and a 1995 145 1.6. The 145 was standard, the Sprint had twin K&N Filters in place of the original airbox. That's about as daring as I get when it comes to tuning.

What would you suggest? IMO Alfas are cosmetically perfect from the factory, but I might be open to some ideas as far as engine tuning goes.

Well i would start with getting rid of the airbox and putting a K&N cone filter on and put a cold air feed to and or over the filter if its big enuff.then bigger exhaust and chip it.you should be able to find a chip on ebay.got mine from germany for about £30-£40. redlines about 7700;) .if you've got the same airflow meter as mine, there is a little mod you can do on it.which will get you more power for nothing.
if you go on the net, type in a search airflow meter mod.it should show you how to do it.i will try and find it for you,as it does work trust me:cool: hope this helps abit.ive done all this to my 33 and more love it!!!
