We have replaced our pampered and immaculate 159 TBi Ti Sportswagon and so we sadly need to sell it. It's a 59 plate (2010) black with tan leather, 55K miles, sunroof, Bose etc and I was wondering whether there are any opinions as to the best place to advertise it bearing in mind that it's quite a rare car?

I would list it on here personally and if no success then look at the other options. However I can’t imagine you will have any trouble finding it a new home

I'm sure wherever you post it, it'll not hang around long - what a lovely looking car - and black & tan combo is a winner.

I'm sure someone on here will snap your arm off, there's often posts with people looking for a TBi

Best of luck with the sale!

Autotrader or eBay would give you much wider audience than here or piston heads, imo. Although eBay can be frustrating with fake buyers and bidders who cancel in the end.
Facebook is also a good place to sell but has almost the same drawbacks as eBay.

Very desirable car!

Not ebay! What about AROC? You can advertise free on Alfa Workshop website car that good will sell itself.

Autotrader. I've sold all my cars on there incl Alfa's with generally little fuss or grief, and there's been a few. Yours is a lovely car, low miles, desirable combo, (arguably) the most reliable 159 engine choice, very rare & pampered by an Alfa enthusiast. All good selling points.

I reckon your car is, dare I say, too "good" for ebay, plus above comments re ebay.

And always worth an ad on here as well.

Put it on all three an expand your net as wide as you can , the TBI is (I believe) the most sought after 159 and yours is low miles , SW and has the tan/black combo it'll be hot off the shelve. Set your price on ebay and set your guidelines don't invite random and unrealistic bids.

I bought my 159 TBI on ebay , I'm from Ireland and I bought in the UK I searched on all sites I could and couldn't find what I was after...I wanted a TI , ideally in black and with it being a rare model already wasn't having much luck on autotrader or the main sites in my price range , my other half suggested 'Try Ebay' and I thought why not haven't even thought of that yet and my car popped up straight away in exactly what spec I wanted and price range it wasn't advertised on other sites.

I made contact and had a call with the chap to ensure him I was genuine and an Alfa lover hence I was willing to travel from Ireland and a couple of days later I was over in the UK doing the deal and taking her back to Ireland.

My point is , expand the net you never know who or from where would be looking for that car to get you the best price she's worth.

As said put it on hear no charge, then if no joy my choice would be Autotrader I wouldn't do all three that's a few quid you will have to shell out which hopefully won't be necessary.
Ebay has a massive audience but sadly loads of time wasters, I have always said I would never advertise a car on EBay but when I sold my TT before I bought the Spider I did exactly that and it did sell so there are genuine people on there.
People who are looking for a car as good as yours will find it where ever you advertise it, I know when searching for my Spider I trawled through every possable place that advertised cars.
Good luck with the sale.

I have sold the last coiuple of my cars on ebay with no issues.

Just use a fixed price listing to make sure you don't get peanuts for it or be bothered by chancers.

Ebay charge a £10 listing fee and another £20 if it sells, but if someone comes to look at the car and makes you an offer there and then you can cancel the listing and avoid paying them £20...

Many thanks for all the responses everyone. Would definitely prefer it goes to a good home on here...but I'm having a job trying to work out what it's worth...!

Quite a spread of values on here: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-se...ROMEO&model=159 SPORTWAGON&aggregatedTrim=TBi

If anyone could let me know their thoughts, would be much appreciated! Here is a more detailed description:

- 2010 (59 Reg)
- 56K miles
- Gloss black with tan heated seats
- We are second owners having have owned it since March 2013
- FSH with Alfa dealer and then Alfa specialist
- Original glass sliding/tilting electric sunroof
- Bose with upgraded speakers sub and amp, 10 disc CD/MP3
- Blue & Me phone and music
- Rear parking sensors, cruise control, auto lights and wipers
- Aftermarket (Veloces) xenons
- MOT expires 25.05.19 - would be happy to get new one done
- Full service May 2018 at £831
- Complete bare metal wheel refurb plus new tyre and wheel caps therefore wheels are as new
- New bonnet badge to replace slightly faded one
- AHM remap (better fuel economy and throttle response)
- New clutch at 40K

Negative bits:

- One of the red Brembo calipers has faded and could do with new powder coat
- Tiny virtually unnoticeable 30mm long dent just below drivers front pillar - no idea where it came from. Never got it fixed as so unnoticeable but would be easy to sort

Ranges do vary for the TBI really depending on spec and mileage , one thing though none of those cars listed on Autotrader as SW are TI's , your is and has the black and tan interior...

I reckon your would be worth listing at between 8.5 - 9.5k pounds...
