Hi All

After my fight to get the 147 though its MOT i finally won!
So I've been wanting to upgrade my sound system for a while now,I've got subs an vibe black death shelf speaker out of my last car, (not an alfa) My Question is.....

Does anyone know of any company's that produces stealth shelf's? of my other thought is to cut up an old 147 shelf and build a custom fiber glass one, but the real pain is the header unit, I want it to still be controlled from the steering wheel controls and i have the iPhone box of tricks plugged into the CD changer socket, So is there an header unit out there that will accept both mini connections, an have a couple of pre amp outputs for my 2 amplifiers??

Thanks in advance!!

1. Forget speakers in the shelf. Get a good set of components in the front and rear! Amp them up.

2. Alpine head unit offers what you are after.

Virtually all mid-/high-spec headunits (and many entry level models), of all major brands, have steering wheel control input sockets. It's a 'normal' feature these days. Team it with the appropriate steering wheel control interface (eg: Connects2 CTSAR003.2 + patch lead).

Knowing this, you can simply browse the online websites for each brand (eg: Alpine, Pioneer, Kenwood, Clarion, etc). They may call the input socket slightly different names, but it should be obvious what it is. Then determine what other features you want (number of RCA preouts, BT, USB, iPod/iPhone connectivity, etc), and what you're prepared to pay. Finally, rather than simply by online based upon specs, go and visit a specialist store and 'touch and feel' the actual model, and try the user interface, to ensure it meets your needs in terms of looks, build quality, and ease of use.
