can you explain better?

what are you having done? a new headunit or amplifier being installed - is that right? and you need to feed a powerwire from the engine bay into the cabin through the firewall?

Thanks to shiny car! You understood me well. wire communication from battery to amplifier. from the engine bay into the cabin through the firewall or somewhere else

ok. is your car RHD (righthand drive = steering wheel on right side) or LHD?

in a RHD 156, there is an unused rubber grommet behind the glovebox. there may be a similar one behind the glovebox in a LHD car too, but i've never checked.

to access the grommet, you have to remove the black plastic trim that fits around the windscreen wipers. then you will find it under the windscreen, near the bonnet hinge.

these photos are from my GT. it is slightly different in the GT because there is a second minor firewall infront that i don't recall being present in the 156. but you can see the main, big grommet:

i cut a hole in the grommet. behind (inside the car behind the glovebox) is some sound insulating material, which you can also cut through.

then push your wire through the hole. it will feed down behind the glovebox. this view is from inside the car, on the floor, looking up behind the glovebox:

i hope that helps.
