With apologies if this comes over as a boast but I thought some might be interested in the day off work I had on Friday on a partner day at Prodrive's premises and circuit near Warwick.

A full day of driving began with breakfast, briefing and then we were split into groups.

Something to drool over during breakfast.

Luckily, I was in the first group to go out with works driver and Le Mans winner Darren Turner in a GT4 N430 racer. Being mostly based on stock they aren't super quick but brakes, turn in and heat are amazing.

Pffft. I was off on Friday. I went to the tip and everything. It was brilliant!

That doesn't look half bad as day out Jim. Were you trying to nick a car in that last pic?

Tempting.

I'd have the cheaper Vantage. Very feel some. The 9 felt a lot heavier and softer.

Looks like you had a great day :)

Have Pro-drive moved now from their original Banbury base?
I think that's still there. This is the performance centre and test circuit. An old RAF airfield. Very bumpy in places. 1.5 mile circuit. Various workshops.

This brings back memories, I used to work there when it was the Lucas test track; we knew it as Fen End, the rest of the company called it 'Sleepy Hollow'. It was RAF Honiley before Lucas took it over. It was bumpy and roughly surfaced back then too, a colleague ruined a set of tyres on an XJ40 in a single lap.

My claim to fame is crashing in to the barrier at the top of the banking while demonstrating a prototype vehicle to Chinese visitors, no-one was hurt but it was the end of that project (thank goodness)
