If you have your files in MP3 format then you shouldn't need an adaptor. I believe all the adaptor does is convert AAC files to MP3 as it's being streamed. If u want to access playlists then u will be best off using a memory stick as B & M does not recognize apple based playlists. I had an iPod classic hooked into mine, all my music is in MP3 format & I don't use an adaptor.
If you have an iPhone 4 or a new iPod then you may have to consider a firmware update for B & M.

iPod classic (Mac formatted not PC) not being recognised

Hi, I've been really enjoying my Giulietta since delivery 3 weeks ago but I have failed to get the system to recognise my (rather old) iPod Classic. I've browsed all threads I can find, read the B&M manual, and done things like allow disc use and wait for over 10 minutes while key is in the MAR position, but the iPod just displays "do not disconnect" and B&M just shows AUX and does not pick up the iPod which is connected to the USB port through the normal Apple USB cable. What am I doing wrong? My iPod is synched to an iMac at home rather than a PC - could this be the problem?
Very frustrating (so I put the drive selector to Dynamic and enjoy the car instead!). Any one got any ideas?
Thanks
