As this is the last one for the year, I propose that AOEM again attend the Ashby Folville Car Show.
The show happens every second Tuesday of the summer months. Therefore will next be happening on the Tuesday 13th September.
I mentioned last month that during the summer months in-excess of 4000 people descend to view hundreds of show cars. this might have been a little exaggeration, but the event is very well supported and many cars/bikes & people turn up.
A selection of the cars that came in July can be seen here: Linky
Folk start to turn up from about 17:00, and it soon gets really busy.
So based on that, and the fact it's mid-week, I propose that we meet at Donny services at 15:00 and aim to set off at 15:15.
I know it's a little early for some folk who may still be at work, but if you can't make the meet time, don't let that stop you coming along.
The show has a FB page that you can have a gleg at if you like. Linky
There are refreshments available: burgers and some Asian food, ice creams, as well as a couple of bars.
Usually, there is a very strong Police presence in and around the village.
The 'feds' have been seen to check RFL discs on cars at the show, there are often speed/ANPR cameras stationed on both roads that lead to/from the village, it has also been known fo the 'Bear in the air' to be snooping around the area looking for those who choose to partake in 'spirited driving'
We will be having a nice sedate trundle to the show, so will be okay.
Hope to see you along.
