I'm not going to jump the gun but have had my first bit of interest in my 159 Q4. There are a few Ti's scattered about I have my eye on as a replacement but wondered if anyone is selling soon? It'll be an 2007, 2008 I'm looking for due to budget restrictions...1.9 or 2.4

Any dealers reading let me know what you have please. Would prefer white with black as second choice. Silver and grey will be considered

Just decided to keep mine after much prevarication! Should have been changing around now.

Good luck with the search.

It's good to read that you want to keep it. Shows I'm making a good choice (to me the ultimate Alfa, 8C aside of course)

Just as a note of encouragement - I recently traded in my 57 reg Ti, the 2.2 JTS. I can honestly say it was the best car I ever had. Drove beautifully and felt good and solid, looked the business.
I now have the 1750 TBi Ti which is also nice but just doesn't feel the same. I'm half wishing I'd held onto the 2.2.

Mike - I have owned a 2.2 and I did like it, I thought it needed a few mods to make it perform like it should. I went for a new exhaust, induction and a remap. it still wasn't quite quick enough for me but I thought it was a decent performer with a lovely sound and rev range. I'd have to test it again as I am being spoilt at present with a 3.2. I've noticed 2.2's are a grand or two cheaper than the equivalent 1.9 or 2.4 models. Was is it that makesyou not so keen on the 1750 TBi engine?

Graham,
It's not so much the engine, and to be honest it may just be that I've only had it a couple months after 4yrs with the 2.2.
It just doesn't feel as "safely" solid if that makes any sense. It also has a few annoying little cabin rattles which can be irritating. The car feels a little flimsy overall.
Going into fast corners the 2.2 felt safer.
I know the 1750 is lighter and perhaps this is just taking some getting used to.

It's worrying that a newer car doesn't feel so well put together!!!

I was just down at the local dealer and they have a used 1750 TBi Ti in for £14,990 which I thought was a very good price (too much for me sadly). They also have a 2.2 which is £2000 cheaper than the 1.9 I went down there to look at, same age and mileage

I have heard this a few times now, that the newer 159 and Breras do not feel as strong or well put together as the first run.

In a way I'm somewhat relieved to hear this. I was thinking maybe it's just me finding it hard to get used to.

Read in conjunction with the delay in the new models thread, it all sounds a bit depressing doesn't it.

The 1750TBi is definitely lighter on the front end than the 2.2 JTS which I found a bit difficult to get used to at first but this obviously makes turn in quicker and the car less nose heavy. The gearing is also totally different; somehow the 2.2JTS felt more sporty if that makes sense ;)

It's all down to personal preference.

TBH I'd go for the 2.2JTS as they are definitely cheaper and not really that much more expensive to run.

No issues with build quality on either 159 I've owned.
